History
On 25 June 1971 the first Alice Springs Town Council election was held.
Alice Springs became a Municipality on 1 July 1971 and the first meeting of Council was held on 5 July.
Since then the town has had many representative Councils each serving a four-year term and contributing towards making Alice what it is today.
