CEO Robert Jennings

Robert Jen­nings — Chief Exec­u­tive Officer

Robert is the CEO of Alice Springs Town Coun­cil and pri­or to this was the CEO of Kather­ine Town Coun­cil for four and a half years. He has served as an exec­u­tive offi­cer in local gov­ern­ment across three states and ter­ri­to­ries and is a mem­ber of the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry Plan­ning Com­mis­sion. Pri­or to this time, Robert worked in the pri­vate sec­tor for a nation­al sus­tain­able devel­op­ment com­pa­ny and as a Reg­is­tered Architect. 

Robert is also a mem­ber of Region­al Devel­op­ment Aus­tralia NT, is edu­cat­ed as an archi­tect and econ­o­mist and has an exten­sive inter­na­tion­al back­ground. He has a per­son­al com­mit­ment to integri­ty, excel­lence, inno­va­tion and ser­vice to the Coun­cil and to the Alice Springs com­mu­ni­ty and its region.

Robert has over twen­ty two years’ expe­ri­ence across a wide range of fields includ­ing gov­ern­ment, infra­struc­ture, project man­age­ment, sus­tain­abil­i­ty and alter­na­tive ener­gy, emer­gency man­age­ment, land devel­op­ment, urban plan­ning and archi­tec­ture, con­struc­tion and com­mu­ni­ty and eco­nom­ic devel­op­ment. Robert spe­cialis­es in the devel­op­ment and imple­men­ta­tion of shared strate­gic plans, enrich­ing rela­tion­ships and the deliv­ery of diverse and com­plex projects.


Sabine Tay­lor — Direc­tor Cor­po­rate Services

Sabine comes to Alice Springs from New South Wales where she pre­vi­ous­ly held exec­u­tive lead­er­ship posi­tions with­in the pri­vate sec­tor. Her vast and rel­e­vant expe­ri­ence includes strat­e­gy devel­op­ment and deliv­ery with­in high­ly reg­u­lat­ed envi­ron­ments, report­ing to gov­ern­ment and statu­to­ry author­i­ties, advo­ca­cy on behalf of mem­bers, legal and con­trac­tu­al focus, board expe­ri­ence and high lev­el stake­hold­er engage­ment. She has lead large teams, man­aged pub­lic funds and has an exten­sive back­ground in cor­po­rate services.

In her most recent role she was respon­si­ble for Australia’s largest cor­po­rate super­an­nu­a­tion fund with approx­i­mate­ly 95,000 mem­bers and over $20 bil­lion in funds under man­age­ment. She has expe­ri­ence in lead­ing trans­for­ma­tion­al change and tak­ing teams on the jour­ney, work­ing col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly and ensur­ing change for the right reasons.

Sabine’s strong back­ground in cor­po­rate ser­vices includes exec­u­tive lead­er­ship roles at Com­mon­wealth Bank Aus­tralia, UniSu­per, AMP and MLC for exam­ple. As well as pre­vi­ous roles such as Chair­man of the Board for NRMA Employ­ees Cred­it Union, Direc­tor Crime Stop­pers NSW and Chief Oper­at­ing Offi­cer at RISQ Group.

Scott Allen — Direc­tor Tech­ni­cal Services

Scott was born in Toowoom­ba and grew up in Oakey, Queens­land, also spend­ing time liv­ing in Eng­land on a num­ber of occa­sions whilst play­ing cricket.

Scott is a green­keep­er by trade. He has under­tak­en fur­ther stud­ies, most recent­ly achiev­ing a Grad­u­ate Cer­tifi­cate in Local Gov­ern­ment Lead­er­ship. Scott also has sev­er­al diplo­mas in turf-relat­ed areas.

Scott start­ed his local gov­ern­ment career at the Toowoom­ba City Coun­cil. He com­menced work with Alice Springs Town Coun­cil in Octo­ber 2007 as the Super­vi­sor Parks and Gar­dens. Scott was the Man­ag­er Works for a num­ber of years before being appoint­ed as Direc­tor Tech­ni­cal Services.

Scott and his wife Michelle have two daugh­ters and a son. Hav­ing worked in local gov­ern­ment for a sig­nif­i­cant peri­od, Scott enjoys the abil­i­ty to make a dif­fer­ence in his and his family’s community.

Scott enjoys all sports, espe­cial­ly crick­et and rug­by league, and a pas­sion­ate sup­port­er of Queens­land in every sport­ing arena.


Kim Sutton

Kim Sut­ton — Direc­tor Com­mu­ni­ty Development

Kim Sut­ton grew up in a region­al town and is pleased to be return­ing to the idyl­lic lifestyle of region­al Australia.

Kim has tak­en on the role of Direc­tor of Com­mu­ni­ty Devel­op­ment at Alice Springs Town Coun­cil after mov­ing across from Queens­land with her hus­band and two chil­dren. Kim’s career has been ded­i­cat­ed to com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment with over 20 years expe­ri­ence, both inter­na­tion­al­ly and in Aus­tralia. She brings a wealth of knowl­edge from senior lead­er­ship roles with organ­i­sa­tions such as RACQ Life Flight, Gold Coast Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion, Oxfam Aus­tralia, Action for Chil­dren and Hol­born Youth Association.

With con­sid­er­able expe­ri­ence in com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment, and a strong com­mu­ni­ty and cor­po­rate sec­tor his­to­ry, Kim has a focus in areas such as youth, social improve­ment and pro­gram coor­di­na­tion. She has a Bach­e­lor of Behav­iour­al Sci­ence and is an Aus­tralian Insti­tute of Com­pa­ny Direc­tors graduate. 

Kim enjoys hik­ing and pho­tog­ra­phy. She is very much appre­ci­at­ing the Alice Springs land­scapes with her young fam­i­ly, when not busy play­ing week­end sport.
