Community Grants & Event Sponsorship Program
Council’s Community Grants & Event Sponsorship Program aims to support community initiatives and encourage the ongoing social, cultural, recreational and environmental development of Alice Springs.
Council has streamlined its Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Program processes meaning there are now two opportunities to apply for Council funding each financial year.
Eligible organizations are those operating on a Not-For-Profit basis, or providing a project/service for non-commercial gain, or providing a project/service which adds value to the broader community of Alice Springs.
There are two categories you can apply for: community grants or event sponsorship program.
Community Grants Program is to support activities, projects and small events that enhance cultural, environmental, recreational or social opportunity in Alice Springs. Funding level: Tier 1 up to $5,000 exclusive of GST.
Event Sponsorship Program to assist in development and staging of events and community projects in Alice Springs with two funding levels- Tier 2: up to $10,000 or Tier 3: up to $15,000 exclusive of GST.
Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria to be considered for further assessment- for more details please refer to guidelines.
Council regularly receives more funding applications than the available budget can accommodate hence the Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Program is competitive and successful applications are those that best satisfy the assessment criteria. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Late applications will not be honored.

- 4. ELIGIBILITY: My organization is For-Profit and we are looking for industry grants, can we apply for ASTC grants program?

- 7. MARKETING: Do I need to contact Council for an approval of my marketing and collateral designs?
-
Yes, part of successfully acquitting your funding is a proof of ASTC branding exposure. You must obtain an approval from ASTC Marketing Department on all collateral and marketing designs before you produce it.

You also must add your event/project to ASTC online community calendar.
- 8. CHANGES TO PROJECT: I was approved for funding but I have some changes to my project, do I have to seek an approval from Coucnil?

Variation Request Letter must be provided to Council for an approval via email to astc@astc.nt.gov.au as soon as a need arises.
Lack of a variation approval will result in your funding not being adequately acquitted and this will result in your organization not being eligible for the next round of funding.
- 9. UNSPENT FUNDING: What if I did not spend all the grant/sponsorship money?
-
In that case, you need to report this to ASTC in your acquittal and Council will issue an invoice. Any unspent funding money must be return to ASTC.
