In-Kind Support

In-Kind Support is offered to eligible events in place of monetary value.

Council determines In-Kind Support on a case by case basis. If you are interested in applying for In-Kind Support please complete the online form linked below.

Submitting application does not guarantee approval & all the assets are a subject to availability. Please note: Applications must be submitted fourteen (14) days in advance to be considered.

To find out more about what is available for in-kind support, refer to page 11 of the ASTC Community Support Guidelines.

Community Grants & Event Sponsorship Program

Council’s Community Grants & Event Sponsorship Program aims to support community initiatives and encourage the ongoing social, cultural, recreational and environmental development of Alice Springs.

Council has streamlined its Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Program processes meaning there are now two opportunities to apply for Council funding each financial year.

Eligible organizations are those operating on a Not-For-Profit basis, or providing a project/service for non-commercial gain, or providing a project/service which adds value to the broader community of Alice Springs.

There are two categories you can apply for: community grants or event sponsorship program.

Community Grants Program is to support activities, projects and small events that enhance cultural, environmental, recreational or social opportunity in Alice Springs. Funding level: Tier 1 up to $5,000 exclusive of GST.

Event Sponsorship Program to assist in development and staging of events and community projects in Alice Springs with two funding levels- Tier 2: up to $10,000 or Tier 3: up to $15,000 exclusive of GST.

Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria to be considered for further assessment- for more details please refer to guidelines.

Council regularly receives more funding applications than the available budget can accommodate hence the Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Program is competitive and successful applications are those that best satisfy the assessment criteria. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Late applications will not be honored.

ASTC Community Support Guidelines

FAQ

1. KEY DATES: Can I apply for funding any time?

Council offers funding rounds twice a year. Please refer to page 6 of Community Support Guidelines.

2. APPLICATION: Can I apply for the funding on paper or via email?

No, Council provides an online platform SmartyGrants to manage all application hence why paper or email applications are not permitted.

3. ELIGIBILITY: I am a sole trader and did not find an auspice body, can I still apply?

No, you are not eligible to apply if you are an unincorporated sole trader without an auspice body support.

4. ELIGIBILITY: My organization is For-Profit and we are looking for industry grants, can we apply for ASTC grants program?

ASTC grants program supports only Not-For-Profit organizations. We encourage you to explore GrantGuru where you can find funding opportunities for your type of business.

5. BUDGET: What should I include in my application budget?

All types of income that contributes to your project must be included in your application budget. This includes any internal funds, any grants or sponsorships, donations, in-kind support and volunteer hours.

6. PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE: I do not have a Public Liability Insurance yet, what should I do?

To be eligible for funding, in application process you must provide a current Public Liability Insurance Certificate or a quote. Once your application is approved, in order to receive funds you will need to provide a valid within your project dates Public Liability Insurance Certificate.

7. MARKETING: Do I need to contact Council for an approval of my marketing and collateral designs?

Yes, part of successfully acquitting your funding is a proof of ASTC branding exposure. You must obtain an approval from ASTC Marketing Department on all collateral and marketing designs before you produce it.

ASTC logo and guidelines will be provided to you upon signing a funding agreement. Decals of ASTC logo are permitted on any already existing banners.

You also must add your event/project to ASTC online community calendar.

8. CHANGES TO PROJECT: I was approved for funding but I have some changes to my project, do I have to seek an approval from Coucnil?

Yes, any changes to your project, including budget/expenditure 20% or more must be approved by Council. This also applies to changes of event/project dates and location.

Variation Request Letter must be provided to Council for an approval via email to astc@astc.nt.gov.au as soon as a need arises.

Lack of a variation approval will result in your funding not being adequately acquitted and this will result in your organization not being eligible for the next round of funding.

9. UNSPENT FUNDING: What if I did not spend all the grant/sponsorship money?

In that case, you need to report this to ASTC in your acquittal and Council will issue an invoice. Any unspent funding money must be return to ASTC
