Com­mu­ni­ty Grants & Event Spon­sor­ship Program

Coun­cil’s Com­mu­ni­ty Grants & Event Spon­sor­ship pro­gram aims to sup­port com­mu­ni­ty ini­tia­tives and encour­age the ongo­ing social, cul­tur­al, recre­ation­al and envi­ron­men­tal devel­op­ment of Alice Springs. Cash spon­sor­ships are avail­able in the Event Spon­sor­ship Pro­gram to assist in the devel­op­ment and stag­ing of events and projects in Alice Springs. 

  • Eli­gi­ble orga­ni­za­tions are those oper­at­ing on a non-prof­it basis, or pro­vid­ing a project/​service for non-com­mer­cial gain, or pro­vid­ing a project/​service which adds val­ue to the community.
  • Appli­ca­tions are not guar­an­teed funding.


Coun­cil has stream­lined its Com­mu­ni­ty Grants and Spon­sor­ship process­es mean­ing there are now two oppor­tu­ni­ties to apply for Coun­cil fund­ing each year. 

To apply for fund­ing you will need to reg­is­ter with Smar­ty­Grants. Vis­it Smar­ty­Grants to start your Com­mu­ni­ty Grant or Event Spon­sor­ship Application. 

Round 1: For activ­i­ties between 1 Jan­u­ary 2024 to 30 June 2024

  • Closed on 1 Sep­tem­ber 2023 at 5 pm
  • All appli­cants will be noti­fied of the out­come of their appli­ca­tion in October/​Novem­ber 2023

Round 2: For activ­i­ties between 1 July 2024 to 31 Decem­ber 2024

  • Appli­ca­tions open 1 Feb­ru­ary 2024 at 9 am
  • Appli­ca­tions close 1 March 2024 at 5 pm
  • All appli­cants will be noti­fied of the out­come of their appli­ca­tion in April/​May 2024
