The Territory’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) is an easy and rewarding way for residents to recycle eligible drink containers, reduce litter, and help prolong the lifespan of our landfills — all while earning cash rewards! By returning eligible bottles and cans, you can contribute to a cleaner, greener environment and pocket some extra change.
To make recycling even more convenient, the Alice Springs Town Council has partnered with Envirobank to offer two Drop’n’Go Pods in the Town Centre for both residents and visitors.

Yes. Please ensure all containers are empty and rinsed before recycling.

Only include containers marked with the 10¢ refund label. Be sure to remove all lids and avoid crushing the containers. Tie the bag securely before dropping it off.
No. Do not squash the bottles or containers. Please leave them intact.
Broken glass bottles will not be accepted for recycling under the scheme.
Containers don’t need to be separated, but it’s easier if you do.
The containers should be clean, empty, and with caps off.
