Public Spaces Beautification Program

Posted on 18 Apr, 2023

The Northern Territory Government is helping locals beautify the Alice Springs CBD and suburbs with a Public Space Beautification Program.

The Public Space Beautification Program is an ideas contest open to anyone in the Alice Springs region with an idea for creating, improving or activating our town’s public spaces. NTG is looking for your best ideas to make the town more colourful and activated with no idea too big or small.

Activate Alice will invest $200,000 to make some ideas a reality with the program open to anyone with an idea, be it an organisation, not-for-profit company, individual or government agency.

The idea submission phase closes on 21 April at 12pm. Following the closure, the Activate Alice Working Group will select the top ideas to progress to a public voting phase. The successful ideas will receive a share of the $200,000 with the maximum grant size being $20,000.

Winners will be required to implement the project themselves, including all approvals and permits. The Activate Alice team can help work through this if needed.

To submit your idea, head to the Have Your Say website here and answer the questions on the submission form. You can also email through any questions you may have to Activate.Alice@nt.gov.au.
