Draft Municipal Plan open for consultation

Alice Springs Town Council is investing in the future of Alice Springs with the draft 2023/24 Municipal Plan now open for public consultation.
Councillors voted in favour of adopting a draft Municipal Plan at May’s Ordinary Council Meeting with the Plan now moving to a community consultation phase. Significant investment in infrastructure and amenities across the community highlight the draft Plan with Council aiming to improve the liveability of Alice Springs for all residents.
The new Municipal Plan is the first that aligns with Council’s new Strategic Plan, Alice Springs Liveability & Sustainability 2030, setting the course for a better and more vibrant Alice Springs community.
“Council has been hard at work improving the liveability of Alice Springs and as this Municipal Plan will show, we have invested in exactly that,” Mayor Matt Paterson said. “Significant resources will be invested into improving the liveability for community members with multiple exciting projects on the horizon. This Plan shows that Council is planning for both the short-and long-term improvement of Alice Springs.”
The draft Municipal Plan will be available to the public from today, Wednesday 24 May here. Printed copies will also available at the Civic Centre Reception, Alice Springs Public Library as well as the 50 Plus Community Centre.
Public consultation closes on Friday 16 June with all members of the public invited to submit their feedback. Feedback must be addressed to the CEO and can be submitted in written form at the Civic Centre Reception Desk or via email to astc@astc.nt.gov.au.
