Alice Springs Town Coun­cil advis­es that Traeger Park Oval will be used as a COVID test­ing facil­i­ty from Fri­day 31 Decem­ber 2021. It will there­fore be closed to sport­ing groups and the gen­er­al public.

The NT Gov­ern­ment have iden­ti­fied Traeger Park as an ide­al loca­tion for test­ing and request­ed its use. Giv­en the cur­rent cli­mate, this request was instant­ly granted.

It is esti­mat­ed that Traeger Park will remain closed to the pub­lic for the month of Jan­u­ary, how­ev­er this will be con­tin­u­ous­ly reviewed.

If your sport­ing organ­i­sa­tion has games or train­ings sched­uled at Trager Park for the month of Jan­u­ary, Coun­cil will work close­ly with you to find a suit­able alter­na­tive in the meantime.

This clo­sure will not impact the oper­a­tions of the adja­cent Aquat­ic and Leisure Cen­tre or the Skate Park in any way.
