Youth Action Group

Alice Springs Town Coun­cil’s Youth Action Group (YAG) is an advo­ca­cy group com­prised of young, local indi­vid­u­als, who meet once a month to dis­cuss youth issues, devise ini­tia­tives to pro­mote pos­i­tive youth-engage­ment in the com­mu­ni­ty, and make rec­om­men­da­tions to Coun­cil. YAG organ­is­es a range of youth-focused events through­out the year.

YAG aims to empow­er young peo­ple by includ­ing them in Coun­cil deci­sion-mak­ing, assist­ing them to devel­op con­fi­dence, lead­er­ship and advo­ca­cy skills, and encour­ages a pos­i­tive per­cep­tion of young peo­ple in our community.

Meet­ings are held month­ly. Young peo­ple under the age of 25 can get involved today by con­tact­ing the Youth Ser­vices Offi­cer on 8950 0500, email­ing YDO@​astc.​nt.​gov.​au, or fol­low­ing YAG on Face­book or Insta­gram.
