Alice Springs Greening Strategy
Alice Springs Town Council is currently in the process of working with consultants O2LA, to produce the Alice Springs Greening Strategy and Action Plan. Various engagement methods and tools will be used to inform the Strategy development, with feedback loops in place and a final report planned to be presented to Council in mid 2024.
Key Objectives of the Alice Springs Greening Strategy:
- Enjoy enhanced amenity and natural beauty throughout the city by making it more ‘green’
- Improve shade throughout the city with more trees
- Lower ‘heat island effects’ through increased overall connected tree canopy cover
- Source trees sustainably
- Implement and maintain all new trees with enhanced planting guidelines
