The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek a trainee who needs to learn how to oper­ate machin­ery includ­ing a water truck, front end loader and hook bin truck at Council’s Region­al Waste Man­age­ment Facil­i­ty (RWMF) and able to obtain a heavy rigid (HR) licence.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will con­sist of learn­ing to com­pe­tent­ly oper­ate the fol­low­ing machin­ery, assist in the con­ver­sion of green waste to mulch, aid in orga­niz­ing stock­pile and sort non-com­pactable waste (i.e. met­al, con­crete, etc. ), help to main­tain equip­ment includ­ing dai­ly pre-oper­a­tion checks and per­for­mance of minor repairs, work safe­ly fol­low­ing super­vi­sors’ instruc­tions and Coun­cil poli­cies and pro­ce­dures and behave accord­ing to Council’s Code of Con­duct includ­ing treat­ing the gen­er­al pub­lic with respect.
