It’s Daphne (Campbell) Calder filmed on Narwietooma Station galloping in front of low flying DC3 aircraft in her role as Mary Parsons in The Overlanders, a classic Australian movie which hit the screens in 1946.
A classic cattle drive across 3 states, Aboriginal stockmen, some baddies, ever watchful crocodiles, a possible Japanese invasion & of course Outback romance…The Overlanders has got the lot!
AND…we’ve got a copy of the movie. Join us for this classic movie showing as part of Heritage Week celebrations this coming Wednesday evening on site at the Central Australian Aviation Museum.
Full Moon Tales — Flight boards at 5.30pm. You’ll be ‘back’ in time for the movie.
He flew a number of the planes that are on display in the museum. Captain Freddo (David Frederiksen) has a logbook peppered with colourful stories which he’ll share this Wednesday’s Full Moon Tales as part of Heritage Week activities. Come & listen to tales of flying as it was. Boarding at 5.30pm. Flight will land in time for the classic Australian movie, The Overlanders.
