The Desert Song Festival is returning in 2024: Shorter, Sharper, Brighter! DSF 2024 will be as creative, as diverse, as innovative and as enjoyable as it has ever been. For 6 glorious days, 17-22 September the Central Desert will again reverberate to the sounds of choirs and musicians from across Australia and visiting international musicians. After 18 years contributing to music, music practice and events in Central Australia, this year’s Desert Song Festival will be the last festival curated by Morris Stuart! Choirs! Choirs! Choirs. DSF has been a celebration of choral practice since its inception. The festival was built on a vibrant choral movement that has been building since 2006. Tonight, choirs from the Central Desert will strut their stuff, joined by visiting ensembles from interstate and Europe. On the stage: Alice Sings, The Shavings, The Splinter Sisters and the Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir. They are joined by OLGA from the Netherlands and The Honeybees from Sydney.
