The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek a Risk and Com­pli­ance Offi­cer who will be locat­ed in the Civic Cen­tre with­in the Gov­er­nance unit and under the direct super­vi­sion of the Gen­er­al Counsel/​Chief Legal & Risk Offi­cer for : coor­di­nat­ing the admin­is­tra­tive sup­port for the imple­men­ta­tion of Council’s inte­grat­ed risk man­age­ment frame­work, sup­port­ing Coun­cil func­tions to work effi­cient­ly and effec­tive­ly with­in statu­to­ry, risk and cor­po­rate gov­er­nance frame­works, assist­ing with the admin­is­tra­tion of Council’s Insur­ance port­fo­lio, and deal­ing with all aspects of insur­ance claims and liai­son with claimants and insur­ance providers.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will be include but not lim­it­ed to coor­di­nate and main­tain Council’s risk man­age­ment frame­work, col­late and analyse data to facil­i­tate and coor­di­nate the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of risks and oppor­tu­ni­ties, and to sup­port risk own­ers to assess risks and oppor­tu­ni­ties and devel­op appro­pri­ate strate­gies, main­tain and update Council’s risk reg­is­ter to cap­ture and report on iden­ti­fied risks, strate­gies and out­comes, and con­tribute to the reg­u­lar report­ing includ­ing for insur­able risks and claims, coor­di­nate the inter­nal audit plan, inter­nal com­pli­ance reviews and mon­i­tor­ing activ­i­ties, and assist with man­age­ment of lease and licence agree­ments for Coun­cil prop­er­ties includ­ing admin­is­tra­tion of Council’s lease/​licence data­base and doc­u­ment reg­is­ters, mon­i­tor­ing key dates and ensur­ing accu­rate recordkeeping.

  • 6 weeks annu­al leave with addi­tion­al gen­er­ous leave enti­tle­ments (annu­al leave is paid at the employee’s ordi­nary hourly rate togeth­er with a leave load­ing of 17.5%.) + 3 weeks per­son­al leave + long ser­vice leave.
