The Opportunity
We seek a Risk and Compliance Officer who will be located in the Civic Centre within the Governance unit and under the direct supervision of the General Counsel/Chief Legal & Risk Officer for : coordinating the administrative support for the implementation of Council’s integrated risk management framework, supporting Council functions to work efficiently and effectively within statutory, risk and corporate governance frameworks, assisting with the administration of Council’s Insurance portfolio, and dealing with all aspects of insurance claims and liaison with claimants and insurance providers.
Your responsibilities will be include but not limited to coordinate and maintain Council’s risk management framework, collate and analyse data to facilitate and coordinate the identification of risks and opportunities, and to support risk owners to assess risks and opportunities and develop appropriate strategies, maintain and update Council’s risk register to capture and report on identified risks, strategies and outcomes, and contribute to the regular reporting including for insurable risks and claims, coordinate the internal audit plan, internal compliance reviews and monitoring activities, and assist with management of lease and licence agreements for Council properties including administration of Council’s lease/licence database and document registers, monitoring key dates and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.

- 6 weeks annual leave with additional generous leave entitlements (annual leave is paid at the employee’s ordinary hourly rate together with a leave loading of 17.5%.) + 3 weeks personal leave + long service leave.
