The Opportunity
We seek a Ranger, who operates as a first point of contact for Council to the residents of Alice Springs. With a focus on service to the community provide advice, education, and assistance to the public. Monitor and investigate alleged breaches of Council-administered legislation, by-laws, and policy, when necessary, investigate breaches and recommend appropriate action.
Your responsibilities will include contributing to the positive promotion of the Alice Springs Town Council, serving, assisting, and advising the public. Provide assistance with public relations and promotional activities, operate in compliance, and within the boundaries of the applicable legislation at all times, investigate complaints regarding animals and take legally appropriate action including impounding animals, issuing infringement notices and referring cases to the appropriate authority, and assess animal license applications. Capture animals, using traps where necessary.
