The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek a Ranger, who oper­ates as a first point of con­tact for Coun­cil to the res­i­dents of Alice Springs. With a focus on ser­vice to the com­mu­ni­ty pro­vide advice, edu­ca­tion, and assis­tance to the pub­lic. Mon­i­tor and inves­ti­gate alleged breach­es of Coun­cil-admin­is­tered leg­is­la­tion, by-laws, and pol­i­cy, when nec­es­sary, inves­ti­gate breach­es and rec­om­mend appro­pri­ate action.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will include con­tribut­ing to the pos­i­tive pro­mo­tion of the Alice Springs Town Coun­cil, serv­ing, assist­ing, and advis­ing the pub­lic. Pro­vide assis­tance with pub­lic rela­tions and pro­mo­tion­al activ­i­ties, oper­ate in com­pli­ance, and with­in the bound­aries of the applic­a­ble leg­is­la­tion at all times, inves­ti­gate com­plaints regard­ing ani­mals and take legal­ly appro­pri­ate action includ­ing impound­ing ani­mals, issu­ing infringe­ment notices and refer­ring cas­es to the appro­pri­ate author­i­ty, and assess ani­mal license appli­ca­tions. Cap­ture ani­mals, using traps where necessary.
