Multicultural Action Plan
Alice Springs Town Council is currently developing a Multicultural Action Plan to inform Council’s initiatives and best support inclusion and participation of our diverse community.

The purpose of this survey is to understand how Council can best support its residents, particularly people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. CALD refers here specifically to people from migrant, refugee or other international origins.
Big Day Out In Harmony
Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia, in partnership with Alice Springs Town Council, runs a day-long celebration of multiculturalism each year. The event includes music, dancing, performances, food stalls and kids activities.
Multicultural Fitness Month
Multicultural Fitness Month occurs annually in March and showcases physical activity/movement to exercise lead by facilitators from culturally diverse backgrounds. The use of Council’s Parks and Ovals are the perfect location to enjoy fun and fitness suitable for all ages and abilities.
Alice Springs Town Council runs on average four citizenship ceremonies per year, including one on Australia Day, and is part of a larger community celebration.
Alice Springs Public Library services
The Alice Springs Public Library welcomes people of all backgrounds, abilities, gender and ages. The library has regular Spoken English Meet-Ups (LINK), arts and crafts programs, and other opportunities to meet new people and learn new skills.
The Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia provides settlement assistance and general support to migrants and refugees in Alice Springs.
