Andrew Wilsmore — Chief Executive Officer
Andrew joined Alice Springs Town Council in mid-2023 as the organisation’s seventh CEO, bringing a wealth of executive knowledge to the role. He is a proven senior executive who has experience across a range of industries, including the retail, hospitality, tourism, and agricultural sectors which are important to the Alice Springs community.
He has worked across a diverse range of job functions including Chief Executive Officer, Head of Risk, Corporate Affairs and Advisory, Advocacy & Policy positions within the corporate sector and Industry Associations.
Andrew brings a wide range of skills to Alice Springs Town Council including business strategy development and execution, organisational and team cultural change abilities, talent development, operational management, financial and fiduciary skills.
Andrew enjoys working in difficult and challenging roles, and in multidisciplinary environments with credibility and integrity. He brings passion and commitment to Alice Springs Town Council.
Joel Andrew — Director Technical Services
Joel commenced with Alice Springs Town Council in mid-2022 after moving to Alice Springs from New Zealand with his young family in 2019.
Joel brings with him experience in both government and private practice where he has held senior project roles for over 10 years. Before commencing with Alice Springs Town Council, Joel worked as the Branch Manager / Project Manager with McMahon Services Australia.
Joel holds a Masters of Construction in Project Management and has experience in managing complex projects of all shapes and sizes where he has gained substantial knowledge in technical infrastructure matters.
Nicole Battle — Director Community Development
Nicole comes to Council from her most recent role as Chief Executive Officer of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria. Prior to this, Nicole spent over twelve years working across various local governments including Wyndham City, Hobsons Bay and Moonee Valley City Councils, holding senior roles in Youth Services, Community Development, Communications & Marketing and Governance.
With an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Nicole has also held a number of roles within the not-for-profit sector, with a strong focus on community support and development, and has extensive experience working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and survivors of gender-based violence.
In addition, Nicole holds a master’s degree in Public Policy & Management and is currently undertaking a PhD in community governance. Nicole is committed to the empowerment of local people and communities and to ensuring that all residents have access to the programs and services required to create a preferred future for themselves and their families.
