Andrew Wilsmore — Chief Exec­u­tive Officer

Andrew joined Alice Springs Town Coun­cil in mid-2023 as the organisation’s sev­enth CEO, bring­ing a wealth of exec­u­tive knowl­edge to the role. He is a proven senior exec­u­tive who has expe­ri­ence across a range of indus­tries, includ­ing the retail, hos­pi­tal­i­ty, tourism, and agri­cul­tur­al sec­tors which are impor­tant to the Alice Springs community.

He has worked across a diverse range of job func­tions includ­ing Chief Exec­u­tive Offi­cer, Head of Risk, Cor­po­rate Affairs and Advi­so­ry, Advo­ca­cy & Pol­i­cy posi­tions with­in the cor­po­rate sec­tor and Indus­try Associations. 

Andrew brings a wide range of skills to Alice Springs Town Coun­cil includ­ing busi­ness strat­e­gy devel­op­ment and exe­cu­tion, organ­i­sa­tion­al and team cul­tur­al change abil­i­ties, tal­ent devel­op­ment, oper­a­tional man­age­ment, finan­cial and fidu­cia­ry skills.

Andrew enjoys work­ing in dif­fi­cult and chal­leng­ing roles, and in mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary envi­ron­ments with cred­i­bil­i­ty and integri­ty. He brings pas­sion and com­mit­ment to Alice Springs Town Council.


Joel Andrew — Direc­tor Tech­ni­cal Services

Joel com­menced with Alice Springs Town Coun­cil in mid-2022 after mov­ing to Alice Springs from New Zealand with his young fam­i­ly in 2019.

Joel brings with him expe­ri­ence in both gov­ern­ment and pri­vate prac­tice where he has held senior project roles for over 10 years. Before com­menc­ing with Alice Springs Town Coun­cil, Joel worked as the Branch Man­ag­er / Project Man­ag­er with McMa­hon Ser­vices Australia.

Joel holds a Mas­ters of Con­struc­tion in Project Man­age­ment and has expe­ri­ence in man­ag­ing com­plex projects of all shapes and sizes where he has gained sub­stan­tial knowl­edge in tech­ni­cal infra­struc­ture matters.




Nicole Bat­tle — Direc­tor Com­mu­ni­ty Development

Nicole comes to Coun­cil from her most recent role as Chief Exec­u­tive Offi­cer of Neigh­bour­hood Hous­es Vic­to­ria. Pri­or to this, Nicole spent over twelve years work­ing across var­i­ous local gov­ern­ments includ­ing Wyn­d­ham City, Hob­sons Bay and Moonee Val­ley City Coun­cils, hold­ing senior roles in Youth Ser­vices, Com­mu­ni­ty Devel­op­ment, Com­mu­ni­ca­tions & Mar­ket­ing and Governance. 

With an under­grad­u­ate degree in Social Work, Nicole has also held a num­ber of roles with­in the not-for-prof­it sec­tor, with a strong focus on com­mu­ni­ty sup­port and devel­op­ment, and has exten­sive expe­ri­ence work­ing along­side refugees, asy­lum seek­ers and sur­vivors of gen­der-based violence. 

In addi­tion, Nicole holds a master’s degree in Pub­lic Pol­i­cy & Man­age­ment and is cur­rent­ly under­tak­ing a PhD in com­mu­ni­ty gov­er­nance. Nicole is com­mit­ted to the empow­er­ment of local peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ties and to ensur­ing that all res­i­dents have access to the pro­grams and ser­vices required to cre­ate a pre­ferred future for them­selves and their families.
