As part of the Street Art Fes­ti­val, Alice Springs Pub­lic Library is run­ning a bag design com­pe­ti­tion! Sub­mit your art­work for your chance to win a fab­u­lous prize and see your design print­ed as the next Alice Springs Pub­lic Library bag!

Cap­ture the essence of ​“Liv­ing in Alice” through your unique bag design.

From the breath­tak­ing land­scapes to the vibrant com­mu­ni­ty spir­it, let your cre­ativ­i­ty paint the colours of this remark­able town on our bags. Dive into the heart of Alice Springs and show­case its beau­ty through your art! 

The designs will be judged with the fol­low­ing criteria: 

• Unique­ly Alice Springs
• Orig­i­nal­i­ty
• Inspi­ra­tional

Com­pe­ti­tion details 

The ​‘Design a library bag’ com­pe­ti­tion com­mences at 8am on 1^st March and con­cludes at 11:59pm on 14^th April. The com­pe­ti­tion requires mem­bers of the pub­lic to sub­mit orig­i­nal art­work respond­ing to the com­pe­ti­tion theme ​“liv­ing in Alice” The win­ning entry will be pro­duced on can­vas tote bags that will be avail­able for pur­chase at the Library. 

This com­pe­ti­tion is open to the pub­lic, regard­less if they’re a mem­ber or not. 

Design

• The art­work must be an orig­i­nal piece cre­at­ed by the patron themselves. 
• The design must fit inside an A4 print­able area on the bag via dig­i­tal print­ing, and it can be multi-coloured. 
• You can down­load a print­able tem­plate here or pick up a hard copy from the library
• The sub­mit­ted art­work must be in a high-res­o­lu­tion for­mat ready to print, prefer­ably at 300dpi. 
• Each file must be sub­mit­ted in .JPG .PNG for­mat and can­not exceed 5 MB in size.
• Designs must be orig­i­nal can be dig­i­tal, drawn or paint­ed works. The library has scan­ning facil­i­ties if your design needs to be scanned.
• The orig­i­nal and final art­work must be sub­mit­ted to the library by the com­pe­ti­tion con­clu­sion date and time, and be sub­mit­ted via email: library@​astc.​nt.​gov.​au with the sub­ject link ​“Liv­ing in Alice Com­pe­ti­tion” along with your name and age in the text body.
• For younger par­tic­i­pants, they can be giv­en an A4 tem­plate to make art, which will have their name and age. 

Judg­ing

Entries to the com­pe­ti­tion will be judged by a pan­el of library staff. The win­ner of the com­pe­ti­tion will be cho­sen by judges based on mer­it and ful­fil­ment of the com­pe­ti­tion guidelines. 

The win­ner will be noti­fied by email in April 

Prizes

• 0 – 5: Baby and Spice voucher
• 6 – 11: $100 Dust­bowl voucher
• 12 – 17: $100 Jackson’s Art Sup­plies voucher 
• 18+: $100 Alice Springs Cin­e­ma voucher

Use of win­ning art­work image 

The artist will retain copy­right of the art­work. Alice Springs Pub­lic Library reserves the right to use the win­ning art­work includ­ing, but not lim­it­ed to, being repro­duced in for­mats such as print­ed on tote bags and oth­er col­lat­er­al, dis­played on library dig­i­tal screens, pub­lished on the library web­site and repro­duced in library communications. 

The win­ning art­work image may also be used in future dat­ed library pro­mo­tion­al mate­r­i­al and communications. 

Agree­ment

In sub­mit­ting this work to the com­pe­ti­tion, the artist will retain copy­right to the art­work and agree to the fol­low­ing terms:

I give Alice Springs Pub­lic Library non-exclu­sive per­mis­sion to repro­duce the work in print and dig­i­tal­ly on mar­ket­ing col­lat­er­al and mer­chan­dise and pub­lish online, includ­ing over social media channels 

I am the sole copy­right own­er of the work sub­mit­ted, and it does not con­tain any copy­right mate­r­i­al belong­ing to others
