Among its uses by First Nations peo­ples hon­ey is sucked from the flow­ers and bark ash is used to treat burns. A group­ing of mature Unty­eye trees can be seen in the gar­den adja­cent to the ceme­tery chapel where fur­ther steel friezes relat­ing to this dis­tinc­tive cork­wood and sculp­tured bronze birds by Pip McManus are displayed.
