We are so blessed with the abundance of beautiful birds in Central Australia, that we truly take them for granted! Two thirds of the species of birds in the world live in Australia, and some of these are unique to Central Australia. Budgies and Major Mitchells from the parrot family alone … We are very lucky though to all be blessed with these beautiful pink and grey birds that we all know and love so well as common garden…galahs!

I grew up on a horse farm feeding out oats, which attracted literally hundreds of galahs, so I have grown up with them all around me. I love wildlife art and hope to spread the joy with our community of the fun, colour and movement of these incredible birds who have such huge personalities and visual appeal.

Unfortunately the searing heat last summer in Alice saw baby birds falling out of the trees all around central Australia. If we each take more care of our precious environment we can slow down and hopefully reverse global warming with it’s devastating effects to our natural environment and wildlife. Our kids will be able to enjoy more abundant birdlife that we have in the past. Using solar power to our advantage in every way makes sense in Alice Springs to our gorgeous galahs!
