Keep it Local NT is a platform to help promote local businesses and their new ways of operating while helping to keep customers informed and encourage locals to support locals. We want to see our local businesses are there on the other side of this pandemic and every dollar spent in a local business is one step closer to making sure this is achieved.

Pay it Forward a we have seen a number of our local businesses going above and beyond to pay it forward within our community. From providing free meals to essential workers to 100% rent relief, the support has been wide spread.
As a member of the community if you are in a position to pay it forward by purchasing either a coffee or a meal at participating cafes that can be placed on a board this not only helps to keep the doors open for a local business but also can help a vulnerable person during a time of need.

The Alice Springs Town Council wishes to acknowledge some of the generous acts we have seen within our local community:
- Grill Me Crazy celebrated their first year of business by volunteering to cook up free meals for essential workers
- Flavours of India have been generously donating vegetarian meals to senior citizens in our community who are in isolation
- Exotiq Furniture & Homewares are offering free coffee to essential services
- Watertank Café gave out well over 100 meals from their pay it forward board
- Yeperenye Shopping Centre has given 100% rent relief to struggling specialty stores in the centre for a six-month period.

During times of crisis or emergency, it is the vulnerable members of our community who are often most impacted, including the elderly and people with disabilities.
Council is asking all members of the Alice Springs community to check in on anyone who is living alone, is elderly or who has special needs. It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure vulnerable neighbours, friends and family are well taken care of until the immediate threat passes.
Mutal Aid is a community support initiative aiming to assist people who are currently self-isolating or need extra assistance during this time. Register here for support or volunteer to help your community.
Alice Springs Real Estate are offering assistance with small errands, grocery collection, Australia Post items, have a chat and online support.
