The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek a Senior project Accoun­tant who will work with the Finance Man­ag­er to lead and man­age the imple­men­ta­tion of busi­ness sys­tem improve­ments and effi­cien­cy improve­ments relat­ed to the finan­cial oper­a­tions of Alice Springs Town Coun­cil. The role focus­es on improv­ing effi­cien­cies through tech­nol­o­gy and process­es, enhanc­ing finan­cial report­ing sys­tems and improv­ing council’s pro­duc­tiv­i­ty, ensur­ing com­pli­ance with the Local Gov­ern­ment Act and relat­ed poli­cies. This posi­tion requires strong project man­age­ment, stake­hold­er engage­ment, and tech­ni­cal finance exper­tise to deliv­er ini­tia­tives that sup­port the Council’s strate­gic finan­cial objectives.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will include lead­ing the project man­age­ment of finance-relat­ed busi­ness sys­tem improve­ment ini­tia­tives, from plan­ning to imple­men­ta­tion and review. This includes mon­i­tor­ing projects with reg­u­lar updates to key stake­hold­ers, col­lab­o­ra­tion with inter­nal stake­hold­ers to iden­ti­fy finance busi­ness sys­tem and process improve­ments, includ­ing account­ing soft­ware, pay­roll sys­tems and report­ing tools, ensur­ing data integri­ty and com­pli­ance and act as the pri­ma­ry point of con­tact for finance sys­tem improve­ments, liais­ing with exter­nal ven­dors and con­sul­tant.
