The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek an expe­ri­enced Library Offi­cer, who demon­strate a social­ly inclu­sive com­mu­ni­ty focus by pro­vid­ing effec­tive, effi­cient cus­tomer ser­vice to the Alice Springs com­mu­ni­ty and library users. The posi­tion also super­vis­es func­tion­al oper­a­tion of the library on weekends.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will be includ­ed but not lim­it­ed to pro­vide excel­lent cus­tomer ser­vice to library cus­tomers through shifts on the library floor and infor­ma­tion desk, super­vise casu­al staff and the oper­a­tion of the library on week­ends includ­ing War­den Evac­u­a­tion duties and oper­a­tion of com­mu­ni­ca­tion equip­ment, car­ry out library duties includ­ing open­ing & clos­ing pro­ce­dures, shelv­ing, shelf read­ing, col­lec­tion main­te­nance, end pro­cess­ing and repairs of library resources.

  • 6 weeks annu­al leave with addi­tion­al gen­er­ous leave enti­tle­ments (annu­al leave is paid at the employee’s ordi­nary hourly rate togeth­er with a leave load­ing of 17.5%) + 3 weeks per­son­al leave on pro-rata basis.
