The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek an expe­ri­enced Work Health and Safe­ty (WHS) Coor­di­na­tor to main­tain strong oper­a­tional com­pli­ance and con­tin­u­ous improve­ment of the safe­ty cul­ture with­in the Council.

You will lead man­age and dri­ve con­tin­u­ous improve­ment of WHS sys­tems, pol­i­cy, and pro­ce­dures for the Coun­cil, Imple­ment, over­see, and man­age the Council’s WHS man­age­ment sys­tem for com­pli­ance, per­for­mance mea­sures, and reg­u­lar report­ing, and Under­tak­ing ongo­ing train­ing needs analy­sis, write, devel­op, imple­ment, and pro­vide train­ing in appro­pri­ate process­es and sys­tems for mon­i­tor­ing and com­mu­ni­cat­ing haz­ards and risks to Council’s work­force includ­ing the Exec­u­tive and Elect­ed Mem­bers where required.

The Work Health and Safe­ty (WHS) Coor­di­na­tor is respon­si­ble for the ongo­ing devel­op­ment, imple­men­ta­tion, and main­te­nance of an effec­tive whole of orga­ni­za­tion work­place health and
safe­ty sys­tem, mon­i­tor­ing the safe­ty of work­place envi­ron­ments and iden­ti­fy­ing risks and haz­ards to min­imise the Council’s expo­sure to risk and ongo­ing train­ing needs analy­sis relat­ing to WHS and the devel­op­ment, deliv­er and coor­di­na­tion of WHS-relat­ed train­ing to the Council’s work­force includ­ing the Exec­u­tive and Elect­ed Mem­bers where required.
