Alice Springs Town Coun­cil invites Expres­sions of Inter­est (EOI) for four vacan­cies on its Parks Advi­so­ry Com­mit­tee for rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the gen­er­al com­mu­ni­ty. The Com­mit­tee com­pris­es rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Coun­cil and the community.

Meet­ings con­vene five times per year, or more fre­quent­ly if the need arises.

The Committee’s pur­pose and func­tion is to advise and make for­mal rec­om­men­da­tions to Coun­cil (via the Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices Com­mit­tee) on mat­ters relat­ing to the devel­op­ment and sus­tain­able man­age­ment of the parks net­work in Alice Springs. In par­tic­u­lar, the Com­mit­tee draws upon the col­lec­tive exper­tise of its mem­bers to:

• Facil­i­tate a forum for discussion
• Pro­vide advice and guid­ance on plan­ning and devel­op­ment of the parks net­work, includ­ing mat­ters referred to it by Coun­cil or its Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices Committee
• Pro­vide advice on issues affect­ing parks users
• Sup­port and guide the devel­op­ment of rec­om­men­da­tions for future works with­in an exist­ing bud­get framework
