For Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday 3 March, Alice Springs Town Council is offering residents FREE visits at the landfill and hosting a Clean Up site.

Mayor Ryan said “I’d like to encourage the community to get involved with this years Clean Up Australia Day.” 

Join the Council’s Clean Up Day site to be held at ToddRiver (CharlesCreek) near the Schwarz Causeway from 8am on Sunday 3 March 2013.  To pre register go to www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/AliceSprings+TownCouncil or simply volunteer on the day.

Mayor Ryan said “So come along to the Council’s Clean Up site at Schwarz Causeway from 8am this Sunday.”

“Also residents can take advantage of the free landfill visits to clean up their own backyards.” Said Mayor Ryan.

The Clean Up Australia Day landfill offer is open to Alice Springs residents to deliver domestic and green waste to the Landfill and Green Waste Processing Facility on Commonage Road FREE of charge, only on Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday 3 March 2013. This offer applies to all vehicles (including utility, commercial or domestic vehicles).  NOTE: No televisions, mattresses, white goods, tyres, demolition, concrete or commercial waste will be accepted.
