Council calls for tenders
Alice Springs Town Council would like to advise that tenders for management of the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre are now open.
Council CEO Rex Mooney said “Council and the current contractor have agreed that a new management tender is in the best long term interest of the operations of the facility.”
“Council is inviting tenders from professional, experienced contractors and is advertising this.” Said Rex Mooney CEO.
The facility is currently managed by the YMCA Central Australia. Chair of YMCA Central Australia Fiona Davis said, "YMCA Central Australia would like to thank Alice Springs Town Council for the guidance and support with Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre, which is a wonderful facility and a valuable asset forCentral Australia"
Council invites tenders from professional and experienced managers of aquatic and leisure facilities for the contract which will commence on Sunday 1 July, 2012, and will involve management of the following:
• Outdoor facilities: 8 lane x 50m lap pool; 15 x 10m Learn to Swim pool and Paddle pool.
• Indoor heated facilities: 8 lane x 25m lap pool; 4 lane x 20m Learn to Swim pool; Leisure pool; Lazy river; a Double water slide system together with an indoor/outdoor café.
Copies of the Tender documents are available from the Civic Centre or downloaded from the Council website www.alicesprings.nt.gov.au. Tenders close 5.00pm on Friday 18 May, 2012.
