‘Life in Music’ - Dan Kelly workshop at Library
Alice Springs youth are invited to explore ‘Life in Music’ this Saturday at the Library with a FREE music workshop with Melbourne based musician, Dan Kelly.
The FREE workshop for youth aged 15 to 21 will be held at Alice Springs Public Library on Saturday 16 April, from 1 – 2.30pm and is presented by ASYASS (Alice Springs Youth Accommodation and Support Services).
Dan Kelly is currently on tour with his Uncle Paul Kelly, in addition to his own solo tour. His vast experience in working in the music business includes touring & writing with Paul Kelly and other artists for a number of years around the world. He has several solo/band albums and has also made many TV appearances. He has a broad knowledge of music and has spent many a year as a struggling, budding musician in his early days, before joining up with Paul Kelly and developing his own career.
This workshop, called ‘Life in Music’ is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn about life skills and the music industry from a professional and talented musician. Dan Kelly will talk about life on the road as a musician, the creative process, song writing, studio work, busking and possible career paths.
There will be the opportunity to jam on the guitar or the ukulele with Dan, as instruments will be available for use. Young people are also encouraged to bring their own instruments.
There will be prize draws and refreshments will be served. Bookings are preferred.
For more information or to make a booking, please phone the Alice Springs Public Library on 8950 0555 or speak to the staff at the service desk.
