Alice Springs is a unique melting pot of rurality and diversity, and this is your opportunity to contribute to important student research into mapping lives and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. Complete the online questionnaire, or arrange an interview with me in-person (23-30 January) to tell your story! Please note you must be aged 18+ to contribute to this research.

Oppor­tu­ni­ty to con­tribute to stu­dent research!

The heart of this research is map­ping lives and expe­ri­ences of LGBTQIA+ com­mu­ni­ty that have been erased.

Alice Springs is a unique melt­ing pot of rural­i­ty and diver­si­ty. I hope to glean insights of what liv­ing rural­ly and queer is like for locals in Alice, can­vass­ing this in research to demon­strate the impor­tance of doc­u­ment­ing and val­i­dat­ing inter­sec­tion­al gen­der and sex­u­al diver­si­ty. The Aus­tralian gov­ern­ment did not col­lect sex­u­al or gen­der iden­ti­ty for the most recent cen­sus, this research will demon­strate the rich­es of queer­ness that exists and is thriv­ing in the cen­tre of the country.

Please note you must be 18+ to con­tribute to this research. Inter­views will run for approx. 1 hour and is a laid back oppor­tu­ni­ty to tell your story. 

The report will be com­plet­ed approx. mid-2023.
