Presented by Artback NT and Araluen Arts Centre Lower the Bar is a hilarious look at the world of dating in a place of isolation. Fresh from sold out Darwin Festival 2020 shows, Sarah and Kyle bring their original brand of sketch comedy for the millennial experience. While we’ve all been a little more disconnected than usual, Sarah and Kyle will turn your iso shame into an hour long lol-fest. As individuals and as a society, we have had to learn to pivot and reframe our standards and expectations. Lower the Bar tackles dating, self-image, family, ambition and work ethic during the time of COVID-19. Passover Seder over FaceTime, Pilates classes over zoom, sex over Skype. Sarah and Kyle wrestle with the difficult, heartbreaking, frustrating and often hilarious realities of the fractured existence we are currently living through and the blind nature of stumbling through it without an end date in sight.
