Glenn is a keen bush­walk­er and the stun­ning land­scapes of Cen­tral Aus­tralia pro­vide inspi­ra­tion for his most recent works. Glenn con­tin­ues to paint in oils using pho­tographs as a start­ing point. When apply­ing paint Glenn fol­lows the ​‘fat over lean’ prin­ci­ple and his work is under­paint­ed in com­ple­men­tary con­trast­ing colours using dilut­ed paint. These colours show through on the final work and can be seen if you look close­ly at the paint­ings. After under­paint­ing, tube con­sis­ten­cy oil paint is thick­ly applied using brush­es and palette knives. Mul­ti­ple lay­ers of translu­cent glaze are then used to fin­ish off his work. 

After com­plet­ing a PhD in Zool­o­gy in 1990, Glenn moved to Alice Springs in 1994 to pur­sue a career as an ecol­o­gist with the then Con­ser­va­tion Com­mis­sion of the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry. Glenn resumed recre­ation­al land­scape paint­ing in 2008.

Glenn is a mem­ber of the Cen­tral Aus­tralian Art Soci­ety and is a reg­u­lar entrant in the Society’s pre­mier exhi­bi­tion- The Advo­cate Art Award. He won the Places sec­tion prize in this exhi­bi­tion on debut in 2009 with ​“Hevit­ree Range”. He again won the Places prize in 2016 with ​“Just pass­ing through, Hevit­ree Range” and in 2021 won the Excel­lence Prize with ​“Ormis­ton Pound”. Two oth­er works entered in the Advo­cate Art Award in 2013 and 2018 were high­ly com­mend­ed by the judges. Glenn still works for the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry gov­ern­ment and paints in his spare time.
