May 17 marks International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and Intersex Discrimination (IDAHOBIT): a day to increase visibility, educate and show your pride and support for our LGBTQIA+ community.
This is an important date as it marks 31 years since the the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.This year we will be joining workplaces and organisations globally to raise awareness and strengthen inclusion by holding a Gender and Sexual Diversity, Inclusive Language presentation / workshop facilitated by The Northern Territory AIDS and Hepatitis Council (NTAHC).
The session will cover:• Defining and understanding identities
• Exploring language
• Inclusive practice
