The Cen­tralian Awards are award­ed each at each Aus­tralia Day Flag Rais­ing and Cit­i­zen­ship Cer­e­mony, cel­e­brat­ing the recip­i­ents’ sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tions to the Alice Springs community.

The Cen­tralian Cit­i­zen of the Year Award recog­nis­es a per­son who has made a note­wor­thy con­tri­bu­tion dur­ing the cur­rent year or giv­en out­stand­ing ser­vice over a num­ber of years to their com­mu­ni­ty. To be eli­gi­ble for the Award the nom­i­nee must be an Aus­tralian cit­i­zen and 30 years or old­er on 26 Jan­u­ary 2022.
