Alice Springs Public Library ConnectNT launch

Posted on 16 May, 2014

The Alice Springs Town Council, along with Libraries NT, is launching “Connect NT” – a universal library membership that provides access to all NT Libraries from one membership.

This exciting new initiative is being launched by the Hon Matt Conlan MLA Minister for Arts and Museums and Mayor Damien Ryan at 10.30am on Monday 19 May at the Alice Springs Public Library.  All welcome to attend.

Mayor Damien Ryan explains “Connect NT is essentially one membership to 11 libraries.  Even better news is that library patrons don’t need to do anything, Connect NT membership will be active for all current members from Monday’s launch.”

“Essentially you now get access to all NT Libraries from just one local library membership - no matter where you live in the Territory - that’s more than 378 000 books and resources!” Said Mayor Damien Ryan

The Hon Matt Conlan MLA Minister for Arts and Museums said “We are particularly excited about this initiative as it means greater access to public libraries right across the Territory for all Territorians.  So if you’re not already a library member, become one today.”

The launch of Connect NT kicks off Library and Information Week with the National Simultaneous Storytime being held at the Library from 10.30am on Wednesday 21 May, all welcome to attend.
