The myAlice scheme (December 2020 — March 2021) has now concluded, with 3 rounds of funding fully expended.
myAlice was a buy-local incentive designed to stimulate the local economy by directly sustaining both the community and local business – participation was free for businesses and consumers.
Background
From a total funding pool of $400,000, with equal contribution from the NTG and Alice Springs Town Council, discounts were offered by participating local businesses via the issuing of myAlice digital vouchers to registered customers. Once redeemed, the business could claim back the value of the discount from Council.
Three rounds of funding were released:
Customers registered via the website portal – www.myalice.me – from 11 December 2020 and were able to use their vouchers from that date.
Every registered user had $40 worth of myAlice discounts available per day until the program funds were fully redeemed.
Discount amounts were available as:
MyAlice was made possible with funding from the NT Government of $200,000, and matched by Council’s contribution of a further $200,000. The total amount returned to our local economy is far in excess of $400,000 – a full analysis of the program to be released shortly.
Council wishes to acknowledge its local government partner, the City of Darwin, for sharing their knowledge and expertise in establishing the myDarwin voucher scheme.
