Australia’s national broadcaster, the ABC, offers NT-wide news services, operating from Darwin, with content provided by locally-based journalists.
Imparja Television purchases programming from the Nine Network and broadcasts across an area over 3.6 million km2, encompassing the NT, and regional areas of SA, QLD, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. Imparja also provides the satellite service for ICTV (Indigenous Community TV). Imparja’s digital services facility in Alice Springs is one of five regional stations.
7 Central is proudly the largest commercial Television broadcaster reaching over 1,000,000 potential viewers in regional and remote Australia. With offices in Alice Springs, Mt Isa, Darwin and nationwide it provides local, national and international news, sport and weather. The service is a commercial operation service the business communities of rural Australia and transmitting into Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Programs may air earlier than advertised.
Ten Central Digital Television has an advertising sales office in Alice Springs.
Viewer Access Satellite Television (VAST) Service is a government-funded regional satellite service providing free-to-air high definition television access to approximately 240,000 remote households.

The Alice Springs newspaper is the Centralian Advocate – issued bi-weekly (Tuesday and Friday) and published by News Corp Australia.
NT News is a morning tabloid newspaper published by News Corp Australia and issued from Darwin.
Most national Australian newspapers are also available, arriving by air in Alice Springs from capital cities (approx. 2pm on the day of publication), though freight charges may be added to the cost.
