Pets on Parade

Alice Springs Town Council Rangers host the annual Pets on Parade, promoting responsible pet ownership to the local community.

Grab your steam-punk aviator gear and dress up Fido cos 2019 Pets on Parade is the biggest cosplay event of the year for pets and their owners!!!

Come along with your pet – all shapes and sizes welcome! This year’s theme – “Planes, Pilots and Practitioners” – was chosen for the Royal Flying Doctor Service who will receive all proceeds raised on the day, so remember to bring your gold coins! The Pets on Parade promenade will assemble at 8.45am at the Reflection Pond, Todd Mall (opposite the Visitor Information Centre), and will head down Todd Mall, crossing Gregory Terrace to finish on the Council Lawns where there will be a plethora of paws, pony rides, products and prizes!

1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes for Best Dressed Pet, Best Dressed Adults and Best Dressed Child(ren). Only entrants dressed in theme and present at the time of the announcement will be eligible.

Raffles galore, valued at more than $5000!!! Tickets available on the day ($2 per ticket, or 3 tickets for $5) and prizes will be drawn at 11.30am. 

Scouts will be selling BBQ sandwiches and soft drinks, and a coffee van will be onsite for your morning caffeine fix.

Before the big day, Alice Springs Public Library will be hosting a craft table for kids aged 5-12 years to design, create and decorate a plane – @ the Library from 13-24 May. Crafted planes will be on display at Pets on Parade where 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will be announced.
