Access Advisory Committee
The Alice Springs Town Council invites those interested in the accessibility of Alice Springs to submit an Expression of Interest for membership to its Access Advisory Committee (AAC). Council currently has a number of general community member vacancies.
The AAC provides advice and makes recommendations to Council in identifying community needs to make facilities, services and opportunities in Alice Springs accessible for all, and to assist Council with the planning and development of access opportunities for Alice Springs.
The AAC meets every second month and is made up of representatives from Council, government, local community organisations and community members. The charter is to promote and enhance “Access for All” in Alice Springs to both Council services and facilities as well as those in the broader community.
Alice Springs Town Council will strive to meet access needs in terms of public infrastructure, transport, information, communication and attitudes irrespective of socioeconomic status, culture, gender, language or physical or mental ability of the members of the community.
