Tired of single-use plastic bags for fruit and veggies at the supermarket? Council is giving away reusable produce bags to recyclers in celebration of National Recycling Week!
Starting Monday 13 November, simply bring in some household batteries (A, AA, AAA, D 9V, 6V, button cell) or old mobile phones and accessories to the Civic Centre, Public Library, or Rediscovery Centre. Council will recycle your items, and you’ll walk away with a set of 4 Onya brand reusable bags! Get in quick while stocks last.
These bags are a great alternative to plastic, and are made from recycled materials! These bags potentially keep produce fresher by allow produce to ‘breathe’, and each bag can carry up to 2 kilograms of produce.
