Council History

On the 25 June 1971 the first Alice Springs Town Council election was held.  Then as of the 1 July 1971, Alice Springs became a Municipality and the first meeting of Council was held on the 5 July 1971.  Since then the town has had many representative Councils each serving a 4 year term and contributing towards making Alice what it is today.
