Community Grants & Sponsorship

Alice Springs Town Coun­cil range of grants and spon­sor­ship ini­tia­tives offer sup­port local com­mu­ni­ty groups to iden­ti­fy devel­op­ment oppor­tu­ni­ties, build capac­i­ty, and make pos­i­tive con­tri­bu­tions to the qual­i­ty of life in Alice Springs.

Coun­cil’s 2020 Com­mu­ni­ty Grant appli­ca­tions open Fri­day 24 Jan­u­ary until 5pm, Mon­day 24 February

Guide­lines

Please refer to the grant guide­lines for clar­i­fi­ca­tion on what activ­i­ties Coun­cil will not fund through its grants pro­gram, and the spon­sor­ship pol­i­cy for what is not fund­ed through the events spon­sor­ship program.Eligible organ­i­sa­tions are those oper­at­ing on a non-prof­it basis, or pro­vid­ing a project/​service for non-com­mer­cial gain, or pro­vid­ing a project/​service which adds val­ue to the community.The lev­el of com­mu­ni­ty grant, cash spon­sor­ship and in-kind spon­sor­ship fund­ing depends on Council’s bud­get, and how much the appli­ca­tion match­es the strate­gic pri­or­i­ties of Council.

Appli­ca­tions are not guar­an­teed funding.

Acquit­tal of Funds

All com­mu­ni­ty groups are required to sub­mit an acquit­tal form for funds received from the Alice Springs Town Coun­cil with­in three months of expenditure.

Community Development Grant

Support youth organisations and community groups to develop innovative youth projects and programs in the Alice Springs municipality.

Sustainability Initiatives

Funding community projects or events that focus on reducing the impact on the environment in the areas of waste management, water usage, energy efficiency, transport and biodiversity.

In-kind Sponsorship

Assisting community organisations to deliver community activities and events with in-kind support, such as: provision of bins, grandstand, chairs, fee waiver for cinema package hire. Council will determine in-kind sponsorship on a case by case basis.

Open all year – applications must be submitted 2 weeks before the event or project start date.

Event Sponsorship

Small cash sponsorships through Council's Tourism, Promotions & Events Committee to assist in the development and staging of events and projects in Alice Springs. Council will determine sponsorship on a case by case basis.

Open all year to extent of available funds. Applications must be submitted 10 weeks before the event.
