Join Alice Springs Town Council and Multicultural Services of Central Australia to celebrate our diverse community!
Each year, Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia invites all the local multicultural groups and associations to participate in the event and share some of their culture with the wider community. After months of rehearsals, it comes together on a day filled with colours, sounds, fragrances and tastes from across the world.

ChikChika
Chikchika features renowned Oromo singer-songwriter Muluu Baqqalaa with Tigrinya vocalists Anbessa Gebrehiwot and Haftu Reda. Accompanied by traditional Eritrean and Ethiopian stringed instruments, the krar and masinko, Chikchika weave important stories of culture, love and peace into percussion heavy and up-tempo tunes. Multi-instrumentalist Dale Gorfinkel, and Michael McNab on the drum kit round out this new voice in Australian music.
In recent years Chikchika have been captivating crowds at prominent music festivals, such as Dark Mofo, WOMADelaide, Leaps & Bounds, and Brunswick Music Festival, while also performing at iconic Melbourne venues including Forum Melbourne, Howler and Tramway Hotel.

Lunar New Year Pop Up Party
Join us for an extraordinary Lunar New Year Pop Up Party on Feb 23 2024 in the Todd Mall from 5 – 8pm! Indulge in delectable food, immerse yourself in celebratory crafts, and witness the captivating lion dance performances. We invite diverse cultures and nationalities to participate as stallholders or facilitators. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a multicultural celebration! Diwali Night Market
Alice Springs Town Council is excited to hold a special Night Market event to celebrate Diwali. Diwali is a Festival of Lights that celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
